Application is open for the TÜBİTAK-TWAS Postgraduate and Postdoctoral Fellowship Programmes Call 2025.
The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) and TWAS have established a fellowship programme for foreign scholars from developing countries who wish to pursue postdoctoral research in a field of the natural and related applied sciences in the departments and laboratories of public and private universities of Türkiye (Turkey) and TÜBİTAK Research Centers and Institutes.
The purpose of the programme, which was prepared in cooperation with BİDEB-TÜBITAK and TWAS-UNESCO, is to advance international cooperation of Türkiye in science and technology by providing financial support to international researchers from developing countries who have received their PhD or are still registered to a doctoral programme abroad in the natural and the related applied sciences.
Benefits
Within the scope of the program, the young researchers are provided with the following support;
- Monthly fellowship (stipend) to cover living costs in Türkiye;
- Visa costs at the start of the program;
- Air ticket to (Tickets to reach Türkiye at the beginning of the fellowship and the return journey on completion of the fellowship)
Eligibility
To qualify for this Postgraduate and Postdoctoral Fellowship Programmes applicants must meet the following criteria: Applicants:
- Be permanent residents and nationals of a developing country other than the host country.
- From Science and Technology Lagging countries (STLC) women are especially encouraged to apply.
- Must not hold any visa for temporary or permanent residency in Türkiyeor any developed country;
- Having a passport (expired passports can also be accepted);
- Having an English proficiency certificate;
- Not currently residing in the host country (Türkiye);
- Having an official acceptance at an eligible department, institution, or laboratory of a public or foundation university in Türkiye or TÜBİTAK Research Centers and Institutes;
Selection Criteria
The selection process for this Postgraduate and Postdoctoral Fellowship Programmes is based on the following criteria:
- The Quality and credibility of the research/innovation project;
- Consistent and effective methodology and work plan:
- Widespread impact of project outputs.
Application Process
Applicants must upload the following documents to apply for this fellowship:
- Research proposal form prepared in the format determined by TÜBİTAK;
- Acceptance letter of the candidate’s chosen host institute in Türkiye signed by the Head of the institute.
- Scanned copy of the identity and visa sections of the passport;
- English proficiency certificate.
