The Faculty of Economics and Business board has an opening for a Professor of Practice of Digitalization and AI in Accounting, Control, Governance, and Auditing.
The Professor of Practice will be appointed in the Department of Accounting and Auditing in the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Groningen. The Professor of Practice will work closely with the professors responsible for education in Bachelor, (executive) Master, and executive programs, research, and societal impact with regards to digitalization & AI in accounting, control, governance and auditing. The Department of Accounting and Auditing focuses on management accounting and control; internal control and risk management; corporate governance and law; corporate reporting (financial and non-financial); and auditing.
Tasks
The duties thus include:
- contributing to initiating, developing, and implementing education at the level of Bachelor, Master, (and more specifically) Executive Master and other executive programs
- contributing to the reputation and societal network of the University of Groningen with regard to digitalization & AI
- connecting and driving knowledge exchange between science and practice with regard to research, education, and the public debate in the area of digitalization & AI
- initiate research collaborations and / or raise external funds with professional practice to enable research in accounting, controlling, governance, and auditing within the department
Salary
- a salary based on qualifications and experience between € 6,648 and € 9,680 gross per month (salary scale H2) for a full-time position
- a holiday allowance of 8% gross annual income
- an 8.3% end-of-the-year allowance
- a favorable tax treatment may apply to Non-Dutch applicants
Job Requirements
The candidate for the position AI in Accounting and Auditing should have;
- a PhD in the area of accounting, controlling, governance, and auditing, preferable with a focus on digitalization & AI more specifically, and at least 5 years of post-PhD experience
- excellent teaching abilities and experience in the initiation, development, and delivery of education in the area of digitalization & AI, especially in executive education
- an enduring involvement in academic research in the area of digitalization & AI in accounting, controlling, and auditing, shown by a strong track record of sound practice oriented national and international publications
- a clear and sound vision on the relevance of digitalization & AI for accounting, controlling, and auditing in a fast changing working environment and society
- demonstrable management qualities, a collegial attitude, and good communication skills
- a strong track record, expertise, and eminence within their own professional network in the area of digitalization & AI in accounting, controlling, and auditing, and a demonstrated willingness to involve this network into curricula and research
