The Bachelor and Master of Pharmacy programs at the University of Groningen are in need of a practical professor who can enhance the focus on pharmaceutical product care in these programs.

From traditional fields like physics and biology to multidisciplinary disciplines like artificial intelligence and industrial engineering and management, the Faculty of Science and Engineering (FSE) offers teaching and research in a broad spectrum of science disciplines.
Tasks
The tasks of the Practical Lecturer Pharmaceutical Product Care will include:
- the preparation, design, organization and coordination of practicals on pharmaceutical product care; including tasks such as stock management of raw materials and utensils in the lab
- teaching and coordination of Professionalism in Pharmacy courses, which are part of the Bachelor program (professional attitude, communication and orientation)
- occasionally co-supervise Bachelor and/or Master students with individual projects.
- supervising students during practical courses, teaching laboratory skills, and assisting in student assessment
- overseeing adherence to lab safety protocols and securing safe working conditions for students and staff
- managing the allocation of students to practical groups, monitoring student attendance, and accommodating students with special needs
- contributing to the development/revision of new/existing practical courses
- coordinating all of the above activities with course coordinators, practical coordinator and fellow practical teachers
Salary
The offer in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities:
- A salary, depending on work experience and qualifications, with a minimum of € 2,960 to a maximum of € 5,439 gross per month
- An appointment as lecturer 3 (salary scale 11; UFO profiel Docent 3), if qualifications (UTQ) are met; otherwise starting as lecturer 4 (salary scale 10) and promotion to lecturer 3 when UTQ is obtained.
- An appointment for one year that will become permanent if you perform well
- A holiday allowance of 8% gross annual income
- An 8.3% end-of-the-year allowance
- A minimum of 29 holidays and additional 12 holidays in case of full-time employment
- Training opportunities to further develop didactic capabilities, including the UTQ (BKO) training.
Job Requirements
To be eligible for the position of Pharmaceutical Product Care, applicants must have:
- MSc degree in Pharmacy and a PhD degree in Pharmacy or a related field
- affinity for and experience with pharmacy preparations and pharmaceutical product care
- experience in teaching or supervision of students, for example, as a teaching assistant, tutor or lecturer
- interest in educational innovation
- good command of spoken and written English and Dutch
- a team player with good communication skills
- exhibit a talent for organization, flexibility and time management skills, to be able to cope with fluctuations in workload
- are able to work well in an international, culturally diverse, environment.
