The Department of Molecules and Materials, within the Faculty of Science and Technology, at the University of Twente invites applications for the position of Postdoc Researcher on Polymer Brushes for Electronic Nose Applications.
Polymer brushes are coatings is a composition of end-anchored polymers that stretch away from the substrate due to interactions with their neighbouring chains. These brushes absorb vapors of good solvents, which can be used in many applications. In this project, the department will focus on electronic nose applications. They will coat polymer brushes on different sensor platforms and monitor their response upon exposure to different vapor mixtures, with the aim of identifying scents. The project is part of a large Dutch consortium and candidates will be expected to interact regularly international collaborators in online and face-to-face meetings and work visits.

Salary
The Postdoc Researcher on Polymer Brushes for Electronic Nose Applications offers:
- The salary amounts, depending on education and experience, minimal € 3.557, – to a maximum of € 4.670,- gross per month.
- A holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%.
- The number of holiday hours for full-time employment is 232 hours per calendar year.

Job Requirements
The Postdoc Researcher on Polymer Brushes for Electronic Nose Applications is searching for an ambitious candidate with:
- a doctoral degree in Physics or Chemical Engineering, with solid background in soft matter science.
- A strong affinity with polymer synthesis and polymer characterization experiments is highly recommended.
- The candidate must be fluent in English and
- Able to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team of staff and students.
