The Department of Information Management o Radboudumc is looking for a Data Engineer who will participate in and learn from national and regional initiatives on health data platforms that improve health and healthcare, like CumuluZ and Health-RI.
As a Data Engineer, the candidate will focus on the further development of the OpenPlanet health data platform and data sharing with Radboudumc, on the definition, implementation, and monitoring of processes and tools for cleaning, organizing, structuring, mapping, and enriching a variety of data including healthcare and sensor-derived lifestyle data, with the vision to connect this data through our new OpenPlanet infrastructure and ensure FAIRness of this data.
Duration: The position is for 1 year
Tasks
- The connection between the OpenPlanet infrastructure and healthcare data at Radboudumc.
- Provide expertise and offer support in preparing data sources for downstream use.
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams from OnePlanet and Radboudumc and observe where interests can be aligned.
- Keep an eye out for opportunities and possibilities around data utilization and valorization.
- Contribute to OnePlanet communication (presentations, advising on the content of OnePlanet communication on data infrastructures).
Salary
- A gross monthly salary between € 3.047 and € 5.584).
- An annual vacation allowance of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.3%.

Job Requirements

- MSc (PhD preferred) in a data engineering-related field (e.g., computer science, biomedical informatics).
- Demonstrated experience in Procedural Programming and Object-Oriented Programming.
- Experience in data wrangling (data structuring, cleaning, enriching, validating, mapping, and format transformation.
- Experience with healthcare data or background in medical informatics, bioinformatics, medicine, biology, or a similar life sciences education.
- Affinity with translational research, innovation, and development in personalized and preventive health.
- Good ability to work in multi-partner collaborations.
- Can communicate effectively with people at various management levels.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English and in Dutch are a must.
