Early-career researchers and global health professionals based anywhere in the world are encouraged to apply for the RSTMH 2023 Early Career Grants Programme.
The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene is a charity and membership society that has been dedicated to improving tropical medicine and global health since 1907. They provide grants annually to early career researchers from anywhere in the world to carry out their research on aspects of tropical medicine or global health.
This program will help inspire the upcoming generation of global health leaders, innovators, and experts to work on initiatives that could have an impact on the health of the entire world.
Grants
The maximum amount candidate can request from RSTMH for an Early Career Grants is GBP £5,000
Eligibility
Researchers or global health experts who are just starting a research career and who work in or are interested in tropical medicine or global health are qualified to apply for a Grant.
They must be able to:
- Carry out research under supervision
- Have the ambition to develop knowledge of research methodologies and discipline
- Have demonstrated a good understanding of a field of study
- Demonstrate the ability to produce data under supervision
- Use critical analysis, evaluation and be able to synthesise new and complex ideas
- Competently explain the outcome of their research and value thereof to colleagues
Selection Criteria
The criteria used to assess applications for Early Career Grants applications are:
- Early career status
- Validity of the research question
- Quality of the project design and methodology
- Feasibility of delivering the project outcomes
- Impact of your research project
- Value for money
