The Department of Viroscience at Erasmus MC calls for applications for a 2-year senior postdoctoral researcher position on the Role of Virus-Specific Tissue-Resident T-cells.
The position involves studying the role of virus-specific tissue-resident T-cells (Trm) involved in the control vs. pathogenesis of herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) infections in humans. The project will include a detailed analysis of the phenotype, antigen specificity, and spatial orientation of HSV-1 reactive CD4 and CD8 Trm cells in trigeminal ganglia (immune control) and corneas (immunepathogenesis) of latently HSV-1-infected individuals.

Salary
The position of Senior Postdoctoral Researcher on the Role of Virus-Specific Tissue-Resident T-cells offers a gross monthly salary of a maximum of € 5.483 per month on a full-time basis including other fringe benefits.

- Have a PhD degree in Immunology.
- Are a highly-motivated scientist with strong quantitative research, organization, and communication skills.
- Have a strong track record of research accomplishments in T-cell immunology, molecular biology, and potentially scRNAseq.
- Are able to work well both independently and within a team, at national and international levels. And
- Have an excellent command of the English language, both oral and written.
