Postdoctoral position in Bioinformatician in the Netherlands

The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) in Amsterdam seeks a postdoc bioinformatician with experience in NGS data analysis, who has the ability and motivation to perform basic and translational research in a multidisciplinary setting.

Structural Variants (SVs, chromosomal rearrangements) are highly prevalent in colorectal cancer (CRC) and affect gene function. We aim to detect SVs in recurrently affected genes by using Cergentis’ FFPE-TLC technology and investigate the prevalence and impact of SVs in colon tumor development.

Nevertheless, the candidate tasks will involve the bioinformatics analysis of NGS DNA and RNA sequencing data to characterize SVs in CRC pathogenesis, publishing scientific research, and interacting in a multidisciplinary team at the interface of basic and translational research.
