The Interconnected Resource-aware Intelligent Systems cluster at Eindhoven University of Technology calls for application for PhD positions in Internet of Things and Edge Computing.
This position we will investigate light-weight, energy-/data- efficient, and self-learning AI and deep learning techniques for Edge devices. Architectural aspects of edge, fog, and cloud computing as well as distribution of learning task and computation will also be investigated.
The successful candidates are expected to:
- perform scientific research in the domains described above
- publish results at high-quality venues
- collaborate with other group and faculty members
- collaborate with academic and industrial partners involved in the projects
- attend project meetings and contribute to deliverables and project outcome
- assist with educational tasks (e.g. practical/lab assignments, co-supervise Master students)
Duration: A full-time employment for 4 years.
Salary
- A gross monthly salary and benefits in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement for Dutch Universities.

Job Requirements
The PhD positions in Internet of Things and Edge Computing position requires applicants with
- A master degree in Computer Science, Data Science, (Applied) Mathematics, Embedded Systems, or a related field
- Strong background in machine learning, and specifically deep learning. You have some knowledge of IoT technology and networks
- Good programming skills and experience (C, C++, MATLAB, Python, etc)
- Strong analytical and implementation skills
- Good communicative skills and are eager to work as part of a research team
- Are creative and ambitious
- Good command of the English language
