Fulbright Research Scholar Program for South African 2022/23

Applications are welcome to the fully-funded Fulbright Research Scholar Program for South Africans 2022/23.

The Fulbright South African Research Scholar Program is an opportunity for South African research institute professionals or university faculty to carry out research in their field of proficiency at an academic or research institution in the United States.

This fully-funded grant is to aid successful applicants to perform advanced research at U.S. educational institution, who in turn will strengthen the academic programs or curricula at their home institution.   The program is exclusively addressed at researchers at advanced stages of their Ph.D.

Also, in this year’s application, applicants have the opportunity to apply for the Fulbright-Emory Distinguished Chair Scholar Award. Funded by the Halle Institute for Global Research.

Eligibility

The Fulbright  Research Scholar Program for South African is a postdoctoral research program meant for postdoctoral researchers and academics.

Application Process

The following are required to apply for the Fulbright South African Research Scholar Program:

·         Applicants need to have a proven track record of productive scholarly research, and publications.

·         They must have a doctoral degree or equivalent degree in their program field.  

·         Applicants need to be affiliated with local universities, research institutes, or other institutions that have educational or research objectives.
