Allan and Nesta Ferguson Masters Scholarships, UK (£30,555)

Applications are welcome for the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Masters Scholarships, UK 2021.

All thanks to the generosity of the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable trust, Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarships have been established for African Students (African nationals and resident in Africa), who wish to take on a qualified master course at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS).

Students offered an Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarship must take it up in the academic year 2021/22 and it cannot be carried forward to a later year. Prospective applicants are to check the wording of their scholarship offer carefully to see if they are eligible for a Pre-sessional course or whether they need to achieve the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) direct entry scores by the deadline specified in their scholarship terms and conditions.

The scholarship offers the following program:

  • Full-time MA African Studies
  • Full-time MA International Studies and Diplomacy.
Benefits

Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarship covers:

  • tuition fees in full, and
  • a maintenance grant, the total value of the scholarship is £30,555.
Eligibility

Interested Applicants should:

  • Be nationals of and resident in an African country.
  • Hold an offer of admission to pursue one of the eligible programs by the scholarship deadline.
  • Hold an undergraduate degree at the first-class level.
  •  Priority may be given to applicants with unconditional offers.
  • Applicants must meet the English language condition of their offer of admission to study at SOAS as soon as possible.

The Ferguson scholarships are awarded on academic merit basis.

To apply for the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Masters Scholarship, applicants must follow two steps:

A complete application for admission includes

  • CV and a personal statement.
  • An explanation of the grading system for any degrees obtained outside of the UK,
  • Two references, and
  • Transcripts.
