University of Groningen PhD scholarships in Economics & Business (fully funded)

The graduate school at Groningen University offers four-year Ph.D. scholarships in Economics and Business to excellent candidates who recently graduated.

This scholarship is to stimulate innovative, interdisciplinary research and foremost to contribute to solving complex societal challenges FEB has identified five research themes that unite communities of researchers with proven track records, and oftentimes different backgrounds, who work jointly on research projects in the fields of:

  • Healthy Society
  • Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence
  • Leadership and Governance
  • Future Prosperity and Sustainability
  • Energy Transition and Climate Change.
Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a gross scholarship of € 2,207 per month, from which wage tax and social insurance premiums will be deducted.

Eligibility
  • The ideal candidate is ambitious, highly motivated, and wishes to make a career in research.
  • He or she has thorough training in research skills, speaks and writes English fluently, and has obtained excellent results in the master phase.
  • Candidates should have a Master of Science degree in Economics or Business or another master’s degree sufficiently related to research within one of our dedicated themes.

Interested candidates can apply for this scholarship witht the following documents

  • a letter in which they discuss their motivation, the research area they are interested in, and present an outline of a research proposal (maximum 2 A4)
  • a curriculum vitae
  • proof of English proficiency
  • a scan of their diploma including transcripts, and
  • other relevant documents.
