Call for Applications: Google Workspace Engineer

The Collaboration & Communication team at the Center for Information Technology (CIT), University of Groningen is looking for an enthusiastic Google Workspace Engineer. ∑

In this role, the individual is entrusted with the responsibility of designing, building, and renewing the organization’s email infrastructure, which includes managing email software like Sendmail and Postfix. The position involves providing support to technical colleagues with mail configuration, as well as analyzing email and server logs for security and support-related purposes.

Additionally, the individual prepares proposals for improvement, ensuring these align with CIT standards while maintaining a strong emphasis oCall for Applications: Google Workspace Engineern privacy by design, privacy, and security. Close collaboration with other teams within the CIT, such as DNS Management, Identity & Access Management, and Organization Systems, is also essential to effectively manage and optimize technical dependencies.

Tasks

  • Preparing and developing improvement proposals by CIT standards (ITIL-based change management).
  • Answering second-line questions through various channels.
  • Working on complex problems.
  • Participate in a roster for on-call services.
  • Designing and building email infrastructure and renewing the collaboration environment.
  • Representing the team in consultations and organization-wide projects.
  • Contribute to the further development and improvement of services within the team.
  • Maintain and document technical knowledge to support other team members.

Salary

  • Depending on education and experience, a salary of at least € 3,345 to a maximum of € 5,278 gross per month for a full working week.
  • 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus on the annual gross income.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in managing a collaboration platform, preferably Google Workspace or Office365.
  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience with email software such as Sendmail or Postfix and related infrastructure.
  • Experience with bash/shell scripting within a Linux environment.
  • HBO working and thinking level.
  • Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
  • Experience with agile working, scrum and lean is a plus.
  • For this challenging senior role, we are looking for candidates with at least ten years of relevant work experience.
  • A Certificate of Good Conduct is required for this position.
