The Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at Eindhoven University of Technology is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in AI to lead efforts in helping companies uncover and implement meaningful AI opportunities.
They seek applicants with a strong background in machine learning. Experience in developing and applying AI technologies to real-world challenges is a plus. Also, they expect strong communication and collaboration skills, a proactive and adaptable mindset, and an innate ability to engage diverse stakeholders and build trusted relationships with successful candidates.
Tasks
- Work with companies to identify challenges and co-create tailored, future-proof AI solutions.
- Improve open-source AI tools and cutting-edge methods to deliver real-world impact.
- Leverage our tools and expertise to deliver impactful AI solutions and build long-term partnerships.
- Collaborate to tackle challenging technical problems and publish research in top venues.
Salary
- Salary in accordance with the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities, scale 10 (min. €4,020 max. €5,278).
- A year-end bonus of 8.3% and annual vacation pay of 8%.

Job Requirements
The ideal candidate should have:
- PhD in Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field;
- Experience in programming and software development. Familiarity with Python and statistical computing libraries (e.g. NumPy, PyTorch, JAX) is preferred;
- Enthusiasm for the scientific process: formulating and conducting experiments, data collection and analysis, disseminating findings via writing and oral presentations;
- Ability to cooperate and work effectively within a team;
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
